Each summer we hire between ten and twenty female counselors. The majority of our
staff members are college students or recent graduates. Many of the counselors grew
up here; starting first as campers, second as Counselors in Training (CITs), third as
Junior Counselors (JCs) and finally graduating to full time staff positions.
Whether they work as riding instructors, lifeguards, or Arts and Crafts or general
activities counselors, all of our staff members find their way here because they love to
work with children as well as horses. They enjoy spending time getting to know each
horse and camper so that SJ really does feel like a big family!
